I have been asked to talk to faculty about some version of these "literacies", and suggest some ways our library help our students become more media/digital, or trans literate. My first question: what is the difference between these terms? And the second is like it: what is the preferred term? And finally, if anyone has any ideas about programs or services that might support development of said literacies, I'd love to hear them. Thanks, as always, o collective wisdom!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
