Hello all, Is there anything wrong with this picture? Or can the student gather clips, make a DVD, just to be used in our School of Film? Just making sure there is nothing questionable in this request.
Thanks for everyone's time. Lorraine Ohio U Hi Loraine, I am the TA assistant this semester and I am helping faculty with a special project for the School of Film. I am emailing you in the hopes that you can help me. My assignment is to collect somewhere around 100 clips from different movies to illustrate different concepts of filmmaking such as "opening sequences," "dialogue sequences," "chase sequences" etc. Faculty has given me an enormous list of films which he needs me to obtain DVD copies of. I will then chose the specific sequences from each DVD and burn them onto separate DVDs which will be used solely for the purposes of the School of Film to teach future filmmakers. The end result will be 10 separate DVDs which each have roughly 10 sample clips for each type of sequence. I realize that to accomplish this project I will need some help. First, I need to be able to check out a whole bunch of DVDs at one time. Secondly, I am sure that some of the films I am looking for will not be available at the library or will not be on DVD and I am hoping that you will be able to order them for me somehow. I am wondering if perhaps I should meet with you to go over all of this in person? Also, faculty is willing to meet with us if it is necessary to obtain permission to burn the copies of the clips. Please let me know what I need to do to accomplish this project in terms of getting permission to check out all the DVDs and anything else I may not have thought of. Thank you so much for your time,
VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
