Dear collective brain,
1. I'm looking for two-three more films to complete a short series on architectural practice in the real world, and the compromise and negotiation that usually play a huge role in determining what finally gets built, whether the conflict is between architect and client or architect/client and community (or other combatants to be named later) or between competing designs for one project. Documentaries preferred. Also interested in the perspective of community backlash AFTER something gets built. What film(s) would you suggest to add greater dimension to the pairing of "The Socialist, the Architect, and the Twisted Tower" and "Design Wars!" (1989 - about the design competition for a new Chicago Public Library)? 2. Also looking for stellar examples of parkour on film, if you know of any. (And yes, I already have that Top Gear episode...) If this gets interesting, I'm happy to post a summary. Much obliged, Kathy Kathy Edwards Reference & Collection Development Librarian Emery A. VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
