For you VideoLibers who are near the DC Metro Area I’d like to pass on some
event information.

The University of Maryland Libraries and Library Media Services work with our
local communities on various engagement projects. One such is a community group
of active and hopeful filmmakers and digital media storytellers. We hold
informal and increasingly more “formal” get togethers and workshops to teach
each other about our areas of expertise, and hopefully begin some learning
process for those looking to “work” and/or create in these fields.

The schedule is below but for more information on our community group see:
http://creativeedgepg.wordpress.com/

If any of you are interested and close enough to join in, our fall schedule is
announced in the email below. If you have any questions from the VideoLib
perspective, feel free to contact me directly but I hope to see some of you
there/there/eveywhere,

relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
