“Live Long and Prosper”: Remembering Leonard Nimoy <http://alaac15.ala.org/comment/592#comment-592> Submitted by Jenny Robb <http://alaac15.ala.org/user/44098> on Thu, 05/07/2015 - 8:29am This year's topic: According to the ALA Archives <http://archives.library.illinois.edu/ala/leonard-nimoy/>, Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015) attended ALA in 1976 to sign copies of his book *I am Not Spock* (1975); later in 1995 he would publish another autobiography: *I am Spock*. Beyond his fame from Star Trek, he was a multifaceted artist who published poetry, photography, wrote screenplays and even recorded records and audio books. In this Pop Culture Discussion Group we will discuss all the creative endeavors of this beloved artist and his impact. Join us for a conversation about Nimoy, Star Trek, and fandom. This Discussion Group is open to anyone interested and able to attend. Any questions or ideas? Contact me at robb...@osu.edu. *Popular Cultures Discussion Group The ACRL Popular Culture in Libraries Discussion Group is devoted to the general discussion of popular culture materials and all types of libraries. Although the discussion group is housed in ACRL, discussion and membership is open to all types of libraries*
VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
