Dear Collective Wisdom I now have on my website my English translations of Foscarini's instructions to the player from both his Li Cinque Libri (1640) and from his earlier book Secondo Libro (1629) with a commentary and musical examples illustrating how what he says relates to the way the music is notated - among other things.
