Many thanks for that. I think it is going to set the cat amongst the
pigeons from the word go. And the bibliography is a bit selective.
   Still nothing is ever perfect.

It seems that we are going to have to wait over here until they manage
to ship over some copies. Thanks a lot for the link to the Amazon
site. I am a bit lazy about tracking things down for myself! Should
have looked at the Amazon site properly.

So many many thanks again for your trouble.

   Monica

<oops> Sorry to leave you all in suspense, but the book is buried
"in the queue" on my desk, and other than a cursory flip through it
(from back to front, which was probably a mistake), I really haven't
had a chance to delve into it. The contents certainly looks
intriguing, but I really havern't had the time to give it a fair
     assessment.
You can "Look Inside" using the previewer on the Amazon website:
     [4]http://www.amazon.com/Playing-Baroque-Guitar-Publications-Institu
     te/dp/0253222893/ref=sr_1_1/186-0680916-5014234?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=
     1295820383&sr=8-1
There aren't any samples of the music notation in the Amazon
previewer... and there are many pages of boldly formatted music
(standard notation plus various flavors (FR/ES/IT) of tablature and
continuo, laberintos, tuning/stringing, etc.... much of it very
dense (showing ALL the duration flags, ornamentation and strumming
clues) and most of it way past my dilettante beginner level :P )
     It's all very legible.
Sorry that I couldn't be more help. (I'm sure that you, Monica,
will do a MUCH better job of reviewing it... and yes, you are
mentioned in the bibliography! :) )
