This is another waltz by Cândido Drumond de Vasconcelos from a Madeiran MS for machete with guitar accompaniment from the 1840s. Then (and now?) there were people in Funchal, Madeira from Britain and from German-speaking countries. Madeiran musicians played the machete and taught it to middle class locals and visitors from abroad. Ballroom dances must have been popular. This waltz seems to me to a a slow, lazy sort of waltz for people just relaxing. (Perhaps)
