Well, I don't get the crash and it happens somewhere deep in X11 library functions, I can't guess what a workaround could be. Since Vim has always worked fine with all kinds of Motif, I would still think it's a problem in the X11 library. Wouldn't be the first time... -- Engineers will go without food and hygiene for days to solve a problem. (Other times just because they forgot.)
