These characters are dummy characters for syntax highlighting. The
syntax highlighting of some these characters was changed to the
highlight 'Ignore'. This was the case for other characters already but
was enhanced for others, too. This is intended. In some color schemes
you can see these characters, because some don't set the foreground of
the highlight 'Ignore' to the color of the background.
