Hi there

On pretty much all of the computers that I've used with vim/gvim installed. the default behaviour was to display all keystrokes that make up a single command.

e.g. for the command "4ra" which would replace 4 characters with "a", the "4" and the "r"are displayed at the bottom of the screen to the left of the character position before the "a" is pressed.

However, I'm finding that on my computer which runs vim 6.3 on Kubuntu 5.10 (I personally don't think it's an OS issue), the disaply of the keystrokes making up a command is suppressed, which more or less means I'm forced to be really accurate when issuing a multi-key press command - not that it's not doing its bit to train me to be more careful :P, but it can get really annoy.

So was wondering if anyone know how to turn this on. I've tried searching the help for topics like "ruler". But can't seem to locate the needed option.

Any help with be greated appreciated.

Johnathan
