   Thanks for your input.

   I am not using ctags for sure.
   Somewhere I have set cscopetags option.
   When set "nocst", then 
      :tag
   Works properly.

   I have to find out in which file, this option is set.

   I tried using
     :verbose set cst

   But,this returned nothing.

   I am not sure how to set this.
