Search history

Hi All,
  Assume that I am searching for "pattern1" first and then "pattern2"
next and "pattern3" next.
  If I want the older search patterns, I do
         /<Up>

  Is there any way I can have the history of the search commands.
  I want to use the search history in the functions.
