To edit a colorscheme, first copy it under a different name into $HOME/.vim/colors (on Unix) or $HOME/vimfiles/colors (in Vim notation, for Windows). Any changes you make in the directory tree starting at $VIMRUNTIME may be overwritten without warning by any future upgrade of Vim, and the $VIMRUNTIME tree will in any case be recreated from scratch the day you install Vim 7.1 or Vim 8. By that time you will probably have forgotten the details of your changes, if you made any. Best regards, Tony.
