I've written a small C program, mkvimball, which generates vimballs; use 
it from the .vim/ directory.  You may get a copy of it at:  
http://mysite.verizon.net/astronaut/src/index.html#MKVIMBALL .  Its good 
for use inside shell scripts, for example.
