Sorry, if I sounded like scaring you away. Runtime usually have maintainers (I have CC'ed the javascript maintainer now) that take care of their files. If a problem occurs, it is usually best to contact them so they can acknowledge and fix the problem (and possibly also appreciate a patch) and then they send the complete file to Bram for distribution with Vim. That means Bram doesn't have to care for each and every single runtime file and makes it easier for him. Anyways, it is usually best to contact the maintainer and only if you don't hear back from them, write here. But we appreciate any contribution, thanks! @Claudio, could you please take a look at the problem and the proposed patch? Thanks!
