That's interesting to know about the ps2pdf difference. The default "pstopdf" tool that Apple ships definitely seems like the bare MVP that works just for people who have such needs (which is our case here) without them having to do too much work in supporting. FWIW I actually toyed with the idea of bundling "ps2pdf" with MacVim (before I found out about the Mac-bundled pstopdf) before I saw the binary size… It's a pretty heavy tool.
