Nice! No, I did NOT know about :grepadd, thanks. Per the help, I can append each :grep output to the one quickfix window. That will suffice nicely given that multiple quickfix windows are not possible. And I like that better than using different location-list windows to hold each grep output since each location-list window requires an associated edit window.
