You may want to consider using a script using biterscripting ( http://www.biterscripting.com ) . One of the things its editor commands can do is to match regular expressions across lines, words, characters, strings. Make sure you start with the clearest of requirements - that way you can formulate a solution using stream editors and regular expressions quickly.
