Besides the other tips, you have this possibility: If you use sudo -s to become root, your environment shouldn't change and you should still be able to use your ~user/.vimrc (since $HOME does still refer to your original home) sudo -i on the other hand does re-initialize the environment and $HOME will be set to the home of the new user. regards, Christian -- You received this message from the "vim_use" maillist.
