Hi,

I'm connected to a system with vim 7.0.237

When I connect as one user I can access thevim command history.

I press ':' and then the cursor-up key to get to the previous command,
that I typed.

when I connect on the same host as user root (I use su -)

I the terminal displays <UP> after the ':' character instead of showing
the command history

What could be the reason for this?

both users don't have a ~/.vimrc

Thanks for any suggestions what to lok for.
