I noticed that vim website now uses something from google. However,
google is often blocked in China, and when google is blocked, vim
website also becomes inaccessible (when opening the vim website, the
status bar of firefox always says "connecting to www.google.com", but
the page is not completely shown). I don't know much about web things,
but could this be fixed?

Has this started a few weeks ago? That could be the +1 button.

If you can load the page itself, then it should show up, perhaps with a
few parts not filled in. I can't imagine how part of the page could be
missing. Can you fetch the HTML with wget and look at it?

Yes, this problem started a few weeks ago, and I just ignored it before.

In fact, the page will finally be loaded completely, but it won't
complete if Google is in a blocked state. See an example here:

|---------------------------| Google blocked state
        |---------------------| Visit state
0min 1min 5min

Google is blocked at 0 min, and I started to visit vim.org at 1 min.
Then I have to wait until 5min, when Google is unblocked by the GFW (the
Great Fire Wall, which causes Google to be blocked often). Since Google
is not always blocked, I can visit vim.org normally at most time (it's
not that "most", about 20% of the time Google is blocked here) when
Google is not blocked.

As shown above, the problem is, is it possible for me, and other vim
fans from P.R.China, to always access vim.org normally without disabling
the Google features?

Did you try blocking just apis.google.com? Most things still work then.

Yes, if apis.google.com is blocked, most things works, without the "+1" button. But I don't think this is the best solution, since anyone cannot use apis.google.com related features on vim.org and other websites. Don't you think?
