I don't understand the question. Do you want to open a file in a new tab from Fuzzy File finder? Then use ctrl-l Otherwise, what are you opening in the new tab? If nothing, then your current working directory is your home directory and that's what FuzzyFile finder shows. There is no "folder that belongs to the file I'm editing" because you have no file open.
