This kind of program isn't going to work as a live DJ tool. When you scrub, you
only scrub one track at a time. That is, you can scrub, and move time in the
entire project, but you'll only get real audio, that sounds like a manually
operated tape machine or record, from one track. That feedback is just to help
with editing. With most DAWs, you don't even get effects processing during
scrub. Scrub is just for edits. You can't use it to simulate scratching or
other DJ effects live.

If you want to use it to manually chop and rearrange pieces of a song, that is
different. You can do that. Still, you must manually perform the edits, and
then play it back with the changes. You can't do any of that in real-time. DAWs
are editors.

You must use other software for DJ tasks. There are many programs, but I don't
know of any that are accessible.

Subject: [vimacaudio] Logic Express and jogwheel realtime audio scrubbing?

Hi list,

I ordered logic express after the great podcast from Geo on garage band and
concurrent research on logix's accessibility.

I have a VCi100 vestac DJ controller and saw that logic express has a fuller
midi learn feature than GB. Has anyone tried to assign jogwheels to scrubbing
through audio in the timeline? I would assign two buttons for previous and next
x millisecond or beat or measure (ok that makes a total of 6 but my vci has
them). i think this could be an awesome way to cut and slash beats as well as
drape melodies with accompaniments of the highest techno order.

Is logic express good with DJ stuff or is it limited to synths and composition?

Best regards, and can't wait to install my copy
