I haven't taken apart a Color classic, but if it is any thing like an SE30, once you have discharged the CRT (just like Greg said), to unplug the cable at the CRT squeeze it with needle nose pliers and pull it up.
Although it is very delicate and I would not disconnect it unless I had to.
