Good News All!

I have been in contact with Bill Duvall, the developer and copyright
holder of the Consulair Development System (CDS). He has agreed to
allow me to freely distribute the software and associated
documentation to members of the vintage macintosh community.

Sadly, he no longer has the source code (for updating) or copies of
the software himself (we are talking about 20 years after all).

I will dig everything out as time permits and look at creating a
"distribution" package. I want to double check that there are no
other copyright holders as well (it is possible that a portion of the
CDS system was distributed under license). I will probably scan the
documentation which may result in a rather large .PDF file... Re-
entering it would be nice, but it would also be a source of errors.

At present my only concern is that my disks may no longer be viable
(again, 20 years - although I think I purchased my copy around 15
years ago)... I may have copies (from previous installs) and should
be able to search for them once I finish my gigantor old file storage
task is complete (20 Gigs and counting).

Given my success with this, perhaps I will attempt to get permission
to copy some of my other developments tools... But one thing at a time.

Derek
