Update! I found a web site with directions on how to pull the power supply which I did. Then I pulled the deck off and removed all the memory and re installed it. Using a can of compressed air, I took away some dust while I was at it.
I found two batteries on the motherboard. One was 3.5 volts and one was dead. As luck would have it, I had just ordered and received a lithium 3.6 volt replacement battery, so I installed it. I put everything back together and nothing. Still working on it. Advice appreciated. jack --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Vintage Macs group.
