The 128, 512, 512KE and the Plus had the same analog board, which
also contained the power supply. This changed, a little, with the
first SE (and was continued to the SE/FDHD and the SE/30) which had
most of the analog function, but the power supply was a separate unit.

There is a monitor and TV components shop in NYC which sells complete
upgrade kits intended for the128/512/512KE/Plus and also the SE/SE/
FDHD/SE/30.

The early one needs the most help as it definitely needs the upgraded
"bleeder type" flyback transformer (the earliest Macs were NOT
bleeder type), but it also needs replacement diodes as the original
diodes were completely inadequate.

Both usually need a replacement horizontal blocking capacitor, as
this is what usually takes down the entire video board, and a few
other essentials.

The kits were not expensive, about $20 so, and it brings the oldest
Mac up to the latest specs, for a 9" machine.

But, $20 is more than most 128 or similar Macs are worth.

I used to receive catalogs from the vendor on a periodic basis, but I
haven't since about 2000. Perhaps they're out of business.

Their business was largely centered around replacement flybacks and
so-called "triplers" (for color TVs and a few Sony Trinitron
monitors), and CRTs are very much on the "outs", so they may have
gone the way of the Dodo Bird.

It'll take some research, but flybacks, blocking capacitors and all
the other "usual suspects" which are needed for 128, ..., SE/30 9"
Macs may still be available.

As for me, I kept two SE/30s and trotted off all older 9" Macs to the
local landfill years ago, where I had to pay $7 per CRT for each unit
which was disposed of.

Such is the reality of leaded glass in CRTs.
