Ahhh... memories.? Had this back in '89-90 at UH-Downtown, in the student-government offices, when I was just really getting into Macs.? Until then, I had only used my 128k, and I remember lugging it around to my SGA office!
And what machines they had!? Had no idea at the time that they had Quadras and Centris machines that had WHOPPING 80mb DRIVES!? Who would EVER need that much storage space?? And.. get this... the machines could TALK TO ONE ANOTHER using something called LocalTalk!? I was just fine with SneakerNet + 1.44 floppies... But yeah, when U emptied your trash, Ol' Oscar would come out the top, singing "..Oh, I love, Trash..!" Then sometimes, he would sing a different stanza ".. I love it because it's Trash...!" Neat-o.? Made computing fun, when U could customize your machine & share programs... whatever became of that concept???? ;-) -----Original Message----- From: Chuck Bush <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, Aug 25, 2009 9:39 am Subject: Re: vintage software On 8/24/09 7:49 PM, "d.colvin d.colvin" <[email protected]> wrote: > I've never seen that Oscar the grouch thing. I would like to have it as well. I used to have it years ago on Macs that ran in my classroom.
