Hi,

I have a working SE/30 with 32 MB of RAM, a 500 MB hard disk, and an Ethernet
card! And, running System 7.5.5, with MODE32 installed.

I recently observed that after an extended period of being powered off (12 - 24
hours) and then power it on, the "32-bit memory addressing" option in Memory
(Control Panel) is set to "Off" (from when it was set to "On" before last
shutdown). This does not happen if I set it to be "On", turn it off, and then
turn it back on within, say, 10 hours or so.

Any idea what's causing this?

By the way, I notice that my SE/30 no longer keeps date and time, which
suggests that the battery is dead? Would a dead battery have anything to do
with this?

Thanks,
Xin
