Their is an A/V card for the beige g3. It can be found for maybe $25
if you are lucky.

Also my 8500 has a A/V with S-Video. I have used it to record a
little.  Apple Video Player is a recorder, it comes with OS9.

The thing about the 660av to me that is cool is the small size and
reduced energy needs. Also I just think that the DSP chip is cool. The
NeXt had one but it was the "good" Motorola kind, which was a lot
easier to program.


Somehow along the way I have wound up with 3 old g4s now around
400-450 range. I have one set up to play a bunch of OS9 games.
Photoshop 5.5 does have an altivec plug-in (at least my copy does, I
think I had to download it as an update tho). In Tiger, the DVD player
works ok, but not YouTube.  I have a second one set up with 3 scsi
card for connecting to old backup drives. I wish I had a box for 68-
pin SCSI though.
