I have no idea what i possibly could have done. What could make 3, otherwise
happy healthy, floppy drives stop reading at the same time. Here's the
backstory:

I have a Classic with an external Western Digital 40mg hard drive. This,
along with my iBook, is the computer that I do most of my work on.

Recently, I stumbled upon a 128k upgraded to a 512ke and a Plus. I also
picked up a couple of external 800k floppy drives and connected them to the
512ke and the Plus. The first thing I did was make start-up disks for the
512ke and the Plus on my Classic.

Included in this purchase was about a hundred floppy disks. Some of them are
software. The majority were files. . . fonts, clip-art and a few dirty
pictures, etc. About 80% of these floppies were 800k and the rest were
1.4mg. Last night I sat down and started sorting through all these floppies.
. . keeping fonts, throwing away personal files, intializing disks for me
store my own files on and so on. I was using the 512ke to open files and if
there was something that I wanted to save, I moved it to the Classic.

The point is that there was a lot of back and forth disk swapping between
the three computers. I'm fairly certain that I never put a 1.4mg disk into
the 512ke or the Plus and Classic should have no trouble reading anything.

Suddenly, all three drives stopped reading all disks. Weird! What the heck
did I do this time?

Please help. Need to get some work done this weekend.
