Hello, I was trying to use phoneNet adaptors to hook up a 1400cs to my Macintosh Portable. The 1400cs runs 8.6 and was configured using the Appletalk control panel to use 'Modem/Printer Port' and it seemed to be working correctly. The Macintosh Portable had no such option, and no ability or control panel to configure AppleTalk to use the Printer or Modem port (there are two seperate ports on the Portable, one combined on the 1400)
Long story short, the TX/RX lights were operating on both of the dongles, the terminators were inserted on each end, everything *should* have worked, but no beans. I also shared the HD on both machines to see if it was a sharing permissions issue. Is this a OS-related issue here (compatability between 7.0.1 and 8.6) or am I looking at something stupid, ie not creating an account or allowing guest logins? What am I doing wrong here? -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
