Is anyone able to run iCab successfully under System 7.0.1? I would
like to avoid upgrading to system 7.5.5 or anything higher than 7.0.1
as everything else on this Classic II is running perfectly. I found in
the iCab readme file that it said 7.0.1 is supported as long as you
have threading and something else (can't remember, not in front of it
right now). Anyway when I double click the iCab icon it appears to
start then immediately drops back to the desktop. If you have had any
luck with iCab under 7.0.1 please let me know.

As a side note, thanks to the help and hardware I received from this
list my Classic II is now online! :)

Thread Manager

Drag Manager

Note also:
If you experience system weirdness after installing these, check for the presence of both "7.0/7.1 Apple Guide Enabler" and "Dragging Enabler" among your installed System Extensions. If they are both present, remove the 'Dragging Enabler'.

You may also need Internet Config:

or
http://www.AnarchistTurtle.com/Quinn/Config/OldVersions/2.0final/InternetConfig2.0.zip
Try installing version 2. If it fails to install (perhaps complaining about Component Manager, or missing extensions) then go with version 1.4.

Finally, make sure you are running the 68K version of iCab
