I forgot to ask: when you say you want a IIx mouse, are you looking for a mouse
that is merely *compatible* with the machine? Or are you looking for the exact
same model mouse that originally shipped with it back in 1988?

If the latter, the one you'll want is the Apple Desktop Bus Mouse (Model No.
A9M0331):

They're fairly easy to find, despite their age. The easiest way to ask for one
(well, at least in the US) is to tell people you're looking for the
wedge-shaped mouse that shipped with the Mac SE: they should know what you're
talking about.

If all you want is "a mouse," Apple and third parties made quite a few
different ADB mice. The Desktop Bus Mouse II:

...is a later model ADB mouse, and could be the easiest to find. You might
prefer the rounded edges on the later model mouse, too, though that's up to you.

Best,

James Fraser
