I think that is $10 well spent. You may even gain a little system speed, who knows!
I have one of those adapters, but it has DIP switches to indicate to the Mac what kind of monitor it has attached. I can set it to 512x384. Have a look for one of those as well. Not only helpfull with a LC, but any MAc that has the DB15 graphics connector! Eelco.
