So I've followed the instructions to the letter as far as cleaning
connectors, etc. cleaning/reseating RAM, testing for +5 and +12v at
the floppy port (all checked out). I'm still not convinced that C1 is
the culprit in the random lockups/reboots.

I've ordered (what I hope to be GOOD) 4mb of 30p SIMM's and will
'upgrade' the Plus to 4mb. It's very possible it's a RAM issue. These
old memory chips, like everything else, certainly don't last forever.
Also, the original SIMMs have these big old resistors and I think it's
quite possible there might be an issue with those too.

Basically, it runs like a new machine for sometimes hours, sometimes
minutes before it locks up or reboots. When I go to turn it back on,
there is a low buzzing sound and a vertical line pattern up and down
the screen. If I wait long enough, it will fire back up and run for
awhile again.

Also, I'm admittedly still confused as to the replacement cap for C1.
grrrr..... Thanks again for the help and your patience.

Ideally, I'd love to get this neat old Mac running close to 'new'
condition so I can wow the crowd at work with a vintage, working
Macintosh.
