Check out the fan. You might well be encountering a shut down based on something getting too hot. The fan should turn when you blow on it. Try moving the blades with a probe if that doesn't work. It must turn freely and be more or less free of dust. Is there an air filter that's defective as because of cigarette smoke? I doubt if you have such a thing but there are fans that don't run until some thermometer says they are needed.
