Thanks JW, it's useful to have those for reference.  The difficulty
reproducing that PDS adapter has to do with that long chip on the right.
 It's a custom programmable logic array, which frankly is beyond my means.

I have hardware that can replace the hard drive with a small SCSI to CF card
board, which frees up some space.  So the plan is to mount the accelerator
where the hard drive used to be, and connect it via heavy gage wire to the
CPU socket using a male DIN connector, an extra 68030 socket, and a bundle
of ~110 carefully soldered wires.  Normally moving the CPU so far from the
motherboard would be a problem, but use of somewhat heavy wire should help
with that.

While a power cache could be rearranged onto a board that fits the 68030
socket (all the pictures of these rare devices I've seen have seemed to be
just that) it would be some very tricky soldering work and the new
multi-layer PCB isn't something you could make at home (well maybe you
could, but not me).

That's a very nice item to have your hands on.  Unfortunately AFAIK they've
been sold out for years.  I have to envy yours.  Making one of those
involves creating the programmable logic array, which is a significant
barrier for a connect-the-dots american like myself.

A IISI adapter would be quite nice, but the only way to find one is to buy
IISIs in bulk on ebay and hope one of them has it.  These items just aren't
changing hands anymore.
