I have a Powerbook 160. I bought it in mid 1990s. Used it for a long
time. It still looks new, clean case etc. However around 2000 I put it
in a box and just stored it. I did not use it for almost 10 years.
Last year I tried to use it and it would not work. Instead of just
making a "chime" sound and starting up, it makes an arpeggio sound with
2 renditions. Arpeggio is a CHORD (of 4 notes) that is played
sequentially through the 4 notes instead of playing all 4 notes
together at once creating the chime sound. An arpeggio sounds like:
da-da-da-da going up the scale and means something is wrong either with
memory or logic board.
I would like to get it fixed if it is not too costly. I am wondering
who would know how to fix it for a reasonable price.
I have a lot of good software on it.
The apple store (genius) said "we can't fix this - it is obsolete"
Any suggestions?
Know anyone that could fix it?
