I have two ageing Laserwriter Select 360’s sitting around. One has been demoted to the basement due to fading on one side (apperantly a problem with these, might be rectified with a mirror cleaning), the other just sits around because new toner carts are unobtainable here in Norway. I have tried interfacing it with my newer Macs with an USB- to-Parallell cable, but then the job just hangs forever in the queue. However, Virtual PC running Windows could make it work. For a while CUPS worked, now Apple has eaten the whole CUPS project. Then on a happpy note, I stumbled across a HP Laserjet 4000, and that worked instantly with my OSX 10.5 laptop & the USB-to-Parallell cable. The printer also has LocalTalk, so I wonder if it would work in os 9 & my old G3 as well. However, if anyone wants the printer(s), they’re up for grabs (although shipping will cost the shirt off your back…).
