got an imagewriter II and it seems to work... pretty close to properly.
Problems:

-cant get an ink ribbon to work. the one that came in it was probably the
original, or at least very old, and didnt print even after adjusting roller
distance and spooling some ribbon through. got a replacement (original
Apple in packaging) and that one seems "dry" as well. read about the wd40
trick and tried that out. gave me enough juice to print one good test page
and thats it, even after spooling through more ribbon.

-the printhead seems to spool too far to the right. On a send command from
the computer, it will violently slam itself into the right side of the
machine and attempt to print on the perforated portion of the paper,
eventually continuing onto the next line. Havent found any way to set the
end adjustment or what have you... I do have the manual and didnt see
anything too promising.

any ideas?
