I am unsure whether you want a new or used computer. New printers largely don't support the Appletalk protocols any more, so printing over a network doesn't work unless you can set up printing via TCP/IP. And then there may be other barriers. I'm not sure. USB printers are a matter of someone having written an OS 9 driver (extension), which should be spelled out in the printer specs at the manufacturer's website. For myself, I use an HP LaserJet 2100TN which works great with both OS 9 machines and OSX. For color I use a Kyocera EcoPro EP170N. The 170N was one of the last network laser printers to support AppleTalk protocols as far as I can tell. It has 10/100 ethernet built in and does pretty good color. I would say fantastic color, but some of the inkjet printers are simply astonishing. However, if you do not print color very often, a color laser printer is an excellent choice. No ink to dry out and clog things up. Jeff Walther -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
