I would like his, or anyone elses info, offlist if necessary. I've got about 20 LC type boards and a few others to recap as a giant project and would love to pay for it.
I am pretty sure I have all the replacement tant caps for them too. Hi All: Location could be an issue, but there is a guy I used in Kansas City when I lived there who recapped my LCIII motherboard for me. The caveat was that I needed to give him just the board, not the whole unit... his forte is stereo /TV repair and musical instrument and video equipment repair. Be glad to give his info if interested off-list. I have to ask: was the recapping performed by someone on the list to whom you shipped the machine? Or was it a local chap? It might be helpful to get a list going on Vintage Macs of folks who are willing to undertake board recaps (or, better yet, "tested, known good" vendors who have been providing the service for some time). I'm guessing such people are few and far between at this point, but still, it would be nice to know. Anyone?
