I was recently going thru some stuff in the warehouse at work and uncovered a performa 600 from yesteryear. Complete with everything even an Ethernet card. To my surprise, the pram battery hasn't exploded ad there were not any leaking caps. I plugged it in and it fired right up into system 7.5 looks like the last time it was used was late 95. It had a new 1.2 GB quantum hard drive installed and it has 68mb ram in it... Which made me surprised at how damn slow it is. I remember my duo 230 moving along much faster than this.
I see on LEM it's because the bus runs half the speed of the processor. If I were to put a presto or turbo 040 card in it, or a daystar 601 (if I can get my hands on it!) will it run at full speed, or will I only get 16 MHz out of the 040 or 601?
