What an awesome response. It makes me happy to see enthusiasts for the old mac stuff. I almost kept my old rig when I plugged it all in and it booted right up after years in storage and I don't know how many moves!
So to be clear, what I would really feel super comfortable about would be for someone in the LA area to take them so I could accompany the drives and erase them. I know its not that big a deal but if there is any current personal info on them, id like to know it is gone. No LA vintage mac fans? Thanks to all for the response and i'd be happy to see these live on or they would be at e-recycling with hammer dents already.
