Weird that someone replaced a C2 motherboard with a Classic one. I've seen
that twice in my gathering of Old Macs over 15 years. I'd approach it like
this: if the Classic motherboard is a good one, working and makes the
startup and system sounds, I'd sell it. Then I'd search for a Classic II
motherboard. You may be aware of the problems with the Classics.
Checkerboarding from leaking capacitors? I just made a Classic II
work....sort of....by washing the motherboard in boiled water in my kitchen
sink to remove capacitor goo. It no longer checkerboards, but it has no
sound.
