Low End Mac says yes. I'd think you'd want to unearth the 8MB memory card so it
wouldn't run like molasses in January.

Subject: 7.5.5 on Macintosh Portable M5120

I recently rebuilt a Macintosh Portable to like new condition with a recapped
MOBO done by Hardware Mack. The machine runs the original OS 6.0.8 along with
Word 4.0, Mac Draw, Excel 3.0 and a CAD/CAM application I still use today in my
CNC machine shop. In the shop we use a Quadra 650 with 7.5.5 to communicate
with the machining centers. I want to know if I can put 7.5.5 on the Portable?
Even though last century I did these upgrade installations many times but I no
longer remember how. As I recall it was done without losing any applications or
extensions on the older system. I want to do this so I can use the Portable too
kinda for fun:-)
I found a complete set of disks on eBay, 18 in all including the 7.5.5 updates
and tools. Can this be done?
