Hey everyone, I have an SE/30 and I'm attempting to do a clean install of 7.5.3/7.5.5. I did this on another SE/30 I own a while back without issue but I'm running into a strange problem here. Maybe since I'm relatively new to the classic machines I'm simply overlooking something.
I loaded up the disk tools to format the HD but it keeps telling me: "Unable to locate a suitable drive connected to the SCSI port." Now the machine is booting just fine and when I boot from this disk it shows the HD in the Finder as well. My other SE/30 went through this step without issue which is why I'm confused. This isn't referring specifically to external drives is it? Since the machine boots and the HD obviously works great, I'm not sure where to go from here. I tried the older Disk Utilities floppy I have and it has the same issue. I can boot in the first install disk for 7.5.3 and install over the current OS but I want to format the drive entirely. Has some old data from the original owner way back I'd like to wipe. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! --Chad -- -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
