A quick fix is to use one of the open resolvers for DNS, 8.8.8.8 or 4.2.2.2.

I recommend installing the System 7.5.5 update and Open Transport 1.1.2,
then ditching MacTCP. You'll still be era appropriate, and that combination
works much better.
